From the street dogs of Mexico to the pet dogs of Vancouver Island, I have travelled nationally and internationally to help improve quality of life for our canine companions. I believe every dog lover should enjoy the type of peaceful companionship I share with my dog, and every dog should live a happy life free of abuse and neglect. Education is the foundation.

Well here is the section where I get to talk all about myself! I have to start by saying that I wouldn’t be in the position I am without my always loving and caring dog, Roca and the amazing people I have met since I moved to this beautiful Island. I grew up in Smithers BC on a small chunk of land in the “boonies”. We had all sorts of animals ranging from mini goats to horses and of course DOGS! I always knew I wanted to work with animals and never have an office job. My office had to be the outdoors. So finally the day came when I knew I had to leave Smithers to make my dreams come true. I sold everything, jumped into the car with Roca and drove to Victoria. I met Heather in the dog trainers program I attended. After I graduated the professional dog trainers program, I started working with Heather right away. Through Heather I have met so many wonderful people who have helped shape my life into what it is now. I became a Reiki practitioner with Nikki’s help and I practice regularly on Roca and myself. I see the importance of living in the moment, just like our dogs do every day. I want to help everyone achieve this goal and live happily with their canine companions.

Hello! I’m Nikki and I would like to introduce you to myself. I’ll start by saying that I am so happy to have met Heather and then through her so glad to have met with Jess and Ron. My interaction with this wonderful team has enabled me to interact with my favorite people on this planet- dogs! I get to walk, feed and look after these wonderful beings.I have been trained in Canine First Aid and Safe dog boarding and handling by Heather. Beast Canine has a Dog-Daycare and Home Boarding facility which I look after in Fairfield, Victoria. This place is not only a dog boarding facility- I see this as a space for mutual respect and compassion, where the dogs that come in, relax and feel at home. While leaving your companion with me you can rest assured that I will bring my best paw forward. I am a Doctor but I also offer Reiki to dogs and their owners, which I have been practicing for 16 years and which you could read and learn more about in our Reiki section. My introduction would be incomplete if I failed to mention my infinitely wise Zen Master who happens to be a German Shepherd called Kitten. She has made me realize the importance of bringing my mind to the present moment and to complete rest with whatever presents itself. This is the gift I receive from her whenever I connect with her heart to heart.
